Senior Vice PresidentCarlos Salmon is a Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor at CIC Wealth and is based out of the firm’s Connecticut office. Carlos oversees the financial affairs of seasoned business owners in the manufacturing and professional services industries and a select number of current and former employees from Otis, Carrier, Proctor & Gamble, and Duracell.
As a Certified Investment Management Analyst® and Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, Carlos specializes in using advanced planning techniques and sophisticated wealth management strategies to help clients navigate complex financial situations (e.g., reducing taxes, investing smarter, retirement, business transition, etc.) His areas of expertise include investment consulting & portfolio management, executive compensation & company stock options, managing company retirement plans, business succession planning, tax, trust & estate planning.
Before joining CIC Wealth in December 2021, Carlos served as Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch, Vice President of Wealth Management at Key Private Bank, and Managing Director of Kyros Wealth Management,
A first-generation American of Jamaican descent, Carlos holds a Bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University where he was a nationally ranked NCAA Division-1 tennis player. Outside the office, you’ll either find Carlos playing tennis or pickleball, golfing with his Dad, trying his hand at making a new cuisine he found on YouTube, or visiting family in Jamaica and Greece. Carlos resides in Connecticut with his wife, Eirini, and two sons, Nathaniel & Alexander.
Carlos holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA) certifications from the Investments and Wealth Institute. The CIMA® and CPWA® certifications are advanced professional education and certification programs for advisors who serve high-net-worth clients with sophisticated investment and portfolio management knowledge.
CIMA® and CPWA® certification identifies professionals who have met extensive experience and ethical requirements and have completed coursework in advanced investment management consulting and wealth management strategies from one of three top-20 business schools in the United States: The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, or Yale School of Management. CIMA professionals must pass a certification exam covering a wide range of in-depth investment topics. CPWA professionals must pass a comprehensive examination covering 11 core topics, including applied behavioral finance, charitable giving, estate planning, and wealth transfer. To maintain certification, professionals must meet ongoing continuing education and ethical requirements and adhere to the Institute’s Code of Professional Responsibility.
